Editorial Policy

TheHipHopJunkie covers hip-hop news and culture fast, but not carelessly. This is how we work and how to hold us to it.

Sourcing

• We name our sources wherever possible and link to the original reporting, release, or filing.
• Unconfirmed claims are labelled as rumor or reported-by and are never presented as fact.
• We seek comment from anyone accused of wrongdoing before publishing and note when comment was not received.

Review before publication

Every contributor article passes through editorial review before it goes live. Editors check accuracy, sourcing, tone and image rights. We may edit or decline a submission, and we can unpublish a piece if new information warrants it.

Images and illustrations

Photographs are licensed, credited, or used for news reporting and commentary. Where a cover image is an illustration or was generated rather than photographed, it is captioned as an illustration and is not presented as a documentary photograph of an event.

Independence and disclosure

Editorial coverage is not for sale. Paid placements are labelled "Sponsored". If a story involves a partner, advertiser, event of ours, or a personal connection of the writer, we disclose it in the article. If a link earns us a commission, we say so.

Corrections

We fix errors quickly and openly. Substantive corrections are noted on the article itself; typos are fixed silently. To request a correction, email thehiphopjunkie718@gmail.com with the article link and what is wrong. We aim to respond within two business days.

Takedowns and right of reply

If you are named in a story and believe it is inaccurate, send us your account and we will review it and update the piece where warranted. Copyright owners can request removal or better credit at the same address.
